The “ISLAMIC!!!” profile of the so called “JIHADISTS!!!”

First of all I hope you understood that I was sarcastic when I wrote “ISLAMIC!!!” and “JIHADISTS!!!” in the subject.

If you want a quick crash course on the meaning of Jihad, you may want to check out this link here.

A few things (to mention only those which are kind of relevant here) which are undoubtedly (reference being Qur’an) completely prohibited (Haraam) in Islam are:

  • Drinking Alcohol or Involving in its business
  • Zina (unlawful sexual relations between people who are not married to one another through a Nikah)
  • Riba (usury), Eating Pork and many others

A few spiritual practices (again not the full list) considered mandatory in Islam

  • Praying 5 times a day
  • Fasting during Ramadhan
  • Giving Zakath
  • Attending the Jumah prayers (every Friday)

If I have to describe about how well Islam teaches us about being honest, just, humble, helpful etc then I will need a different blog to explain them with strong references. In Shaa Allah I will do that soon. For now let me stick to the point here.

On 13th November 2015, there was a series of terrorist attacks done at the beautiful city of Paris. The terrorist group ISIS claimed the responsibility of it. Considering the Islamophobia which exists during the period, undoubtedly people started questioning ISLAM again!

Now let us check HOW “ISLAMIC!!!” THE PROFILE OF THE SO CALLED “JIHADISTS!!!” WERE…

The Paris attack suspects:

Abdelhamid Abaaoud (ringleader)

  • Was jailed in Belgium in 2010 for an armed robbery, along with Abdeslams (profiled below)
  • Close contact with Mehdi Nemmouche, a French – Algerian terrorist (profiled below)
  • Never went to mosque

Abdeslam brothers:
Brahim Abdeslam
Salah Abdeslam

  • Ran a Bar in Brussels
  • Notorious for Drug violations
  • Notorious for trafficking poisonous, narcotic and psychotropic substances
  • Jailed together from early-December 2010 to early-January 2011 for drug trafficking (same jail and same time as Abaaoud (profiled above))
  • Never went to mosque, never studied Islamic tradition

People who Inspired them:

Mehdi Nemmouche

  • Was convicted of no less than seven crimes, including several thefts and armed robberies – committed between early 2004, when he was 18, and the end of 2007.
  • Shot and killed four people at the Jewish Museum in Brussels in May 2014
  • Drew inspiration for the Brussels Jewish Museum attack from Mohammed Merah

Mohammed Merah

  • He was sentenced 15 times by a Toulouse juvenile court when he was a minor
  • Possible use of drugs
  • Many accusations of theft

How Islamic they were!!!

For me these are a bunch of spoiled brats who are trying to live the violent video games which they would have played after getting too high with doses of drugs.

If you want references of true Muslims, you may want to please check-out some of the following (not given in any order and just to mention some of the ones whom I know about):

Mufti Menk, Zimbabwe
Yusuf Estes
Nouman Ali Khan

Caution: There are innumerable websites, books and references which are spreading hatred about Islam and Qu’ran. Please check with a Muslim brother before referring any of the suspicious websites, books or other references. You can always feel free to check with me as well. In Shaa Allah I will try the best in my knowledge to help or at least will try to guide you in the best of my knowledge.

  1. Agree with you.But why these kind of acts are done mostly by a person born as Muslim? Have you ever thought of that? Is it not because in Islam, religion takes priority over everything? For a Muslim eveything is religion.Rest all is secondary. So when something is drilled into brain right from the childhood, this is the consequence. Just my view on this. Not to hurt anyones belief/feeling.

    • I can understand what you are saying brother and why you are saying it. Let me try my best to answer your queries or concerns.

      ======
      Why these kind of acts are done mostly by a person born as Muslim?
      ======
      Its “an eye for an eye” practice going on in this world. On one side, in the context of “War on terror” along with a few bad guys a lot of innocent people are getting killed which internally are creating more probable recruits for the terror organizations.

      In countries like Afghanistan, Pakistan, Libya, Syria, Iraq, Palestine and many other regions there are plenty of young bloods who are seeking justice or revenge for a killed son/dad/mother/sister/brother/friend/… Its too easy to bring them on-board for the terror groups.

      US has attacked 14 Muslim countries in the last 30 years. Do we think its tough to find a Muslim recruit for any terror groups, which inturn are also mostly run and funded by the west?

      Brother, on one hand, its all about the arms and ammunition business, they are creating a “market” for running their business.

      ======

      ======
      You are spot on here, but let me rephrase it a little. “In Islam, The Creator takes priority over everything.” Islam preaches about “The ONE God”. It is the same with Judaism and Christianity as well, all the monotheistic religions. All these 3 religions believe that Prophet Adam (AS) ended up at this world due to a mistake he committed in the heavens and this life on earth is a punishment of that mistake. All humans starting from Prophet Adam (AS) to the very last person who will exist on earth WILL have to go through the JUDGEMENT DAY during which The Creator will pronounce his judgement on the good and the bad deeds done by each and everyone of us starting from Prophet Adam (AS) to the last.

      The reason I am mentioning this is, because, for a Muslim this world is to earn the merits for a good life after death. So pleasing the Creator and following his words always takes priority.

      Unfortunately many people are mislead about this aspect, and also the words of the Creator about peace, harmony, serving humanity etc are ignored by a few.!. For example, Allah does say about creating humans just to worship him, as mentioned in the Qur’an. Such statements are misquoted or misinterpreted in many cases as Allah saying he created humans “just” to worship him, where as, if we look at the context of these statements Allah is saying he created humans just to worship “him”, emphasizing on the ONEness of God.

      There are many such statement from the Qur’an which are misused or read out of context.

      I guess in this particular case its a lack of correct understanding of Islam from childhood which troubled. If these kids had some understanding of true Islam they would not have been where they were. Now if you are referring to how the Talibans, ISIS and other radicals prepare the kids from childhood then its again the same case of considering non-islamic activities and people who follow them as the flag bearers of Islam. I would say its all about the ignorance of true Islam by the people who follow the religion and people who interpret Islam from the acts done by a few ignorant/arrogant/evil Muslims.

      I said a “few” because if you looks at the statistics, there are around 1.6 billions Muslims in this world. If you take all the terror groups together they would make up to just 0.003% or lesser of the global Muslim population. If Islam actually breeds terror then considering it existed from 1400 years ago and with a 1.6 billion population which exist now, the world should have died by now, also considering more than 90% of the people killed by these terror groups are Muslims!

      Thanks for your comments brother. I surely understand and appreciate your concerns. Let us hope this world will turn to a better place to live on for our generation and our next generations. In Shaa Allah.

  2. Appreciate your response on this my friend. So you mean West is the reason behind all these blood shed? Just because they attack Islamic countries in the name of “War on Terror” all these issues cropped up? Some how i cant accept it. In general the voice of the world is “Muslims are very sensitive”. Some one publish something against Islam (be it against religion, or be it against Prophet), they hit back. Why no tolerance ? Why only in Islam people misuse or read out of context the words from Holy Religious Text/Book? Why only in Islam there is lack of correct understanding from childhood ? There is some thing really wrong my friend (i didn’t meant wrong with Islam since i truly respect the teachings of Islam). You rightly said that we all want world to turn to a better place to live on for our generation and our next generations. But how… The questions remains ….

    • Trust me my friend, I for sure don’t endorse the cruelties carried out by the Arabs to their own people. That will be against the Islam I know which tells us to be just even if its against our parents, our own kins, the powerful, the rich, the poor,… for Allah can sure protect us.

      Let me again pick up the question you had put in the comment… sorry about doing it the very old school way.. 🙂
      ====
      So you mean West is the reason behind all these blood shed? Just because they attack Islamic countries in the name of “War on Terror” all these issues cropped up?
      ====
      I partially agree as we can sure not clap with just one hand… 🙂 Here my point was about the so called ISLAMIC terrorism which started off in the last 20+ years or so. You can check for the creation of Taliban, whom Ronald Reagen had praised as “The Freedom Fighters”, as they were funded by and fighting for the US again the Russians in Afghanistan during the 1985 cold war. The radicalization of Muslims kicked off from there. There is sure the Saud Kings and their Wahhabism which helps the west with their agendas on radicalizing the Muslims. These are all long stories brother.

      As I said Islam was born 1400 years ago, Qur’an has been the same word by word, letter by letter since its revelation 1400 years ago, not a letter has changed. If you check how brutal and cruel the Arab world was before Islam came in and changed them, then you will realize the beauty of Islam and its teachings at changing the region to a much more peaceful land. If ISLAM preached violence then the cruel Arab land would have never sobered down. The 1400 years of its existence would have been violent, not just the last few decades which we see now.

      Except for Israel-Palestine conflict and the Iran-Iraq conflicts and a few other conflicts which are all more historical conflicts like the India-Pakistan or India-China conflicts did you ever hear of any other attacks in the middle-east or by middle-eastern/Muslim countries before the 1990s? If you have noticed the old histories, the eastern countries were not crazy about invading other countries (a few exceptional cases of may be the Turks during the Ottoman Empire), it was always the west who were in an invasion spree and its still going on.

      The west’s interest in the middle-east is a long story. In my previous comment I said On One Hand its the arms business… now for the other hand you can check out about Greater Israel and the movements related to it. You can search for the following phrases and read about them if you haven’t had a chance as of now.

      Arrival of the Messiah
      Greater Israel
      New World Order

      I wrote about “The Judgement Day” in my previous comment. Judaism, Christianity and Islam together preaches about the judgement day in the same tone except for differences in the happenings in this world prior to the big day. Jews are still expecting their last Messiah (Prophet) to arrive. They believe the Last Messiah is going to rule the whole world and bring peace on earth. So they want to get ready with the Greater Israel and welcoming of their Messiah. Christians and Muslims believe of this as the rebirth of Christ and him overpowering the cruel Dajjal (the false messiah) and then ruling the world to peace.

      So there is an eschatological reasoning also behind all the activities happening in the middle-east. As I said all these are very very long stories. Wish we can discuss more elaborately. In Shaa Allah…

      ====
      “Muslims are very sensitive”. Some one publish something against Islam (be it against religion, or be it against Prophet), they hit back. Why no tolerance ?
      ====
      Except for the radical sects, which I am sure you agree exist in every community, unless there was a mockery of the prophet or the Creator I doubt there was in-tolerance. As we discussed in our previous comment, yes in Islam the Creator and also his prophets takes the highest priority. Everything else, even our family comes after that. A brave man will never tolerate an un-stimulated MOCKERY of his family member(s). Here its the Creator and his prophets which goes even above in priority. Islam sure is not teaching us to be cowards. The question is are these incidences actually un-stimulated?, which I believe is true as I have hardly seen a Muslim going on a criticizing spree against the practices of any other religion. Please correct me if I am ignorant here. The Qur’an for sure preaches us to be tolerant about other religions, so if a Muslim is not tolerant to other religions then he is not a true one.

      Qur’an Surah 109:
      (1) Say: O disbelievers! (2) I worship not that which ye worship; (3) Nor worship ye that which I worship. (4) And I shall not worship that which ye worship. (5) Nor will ye worship that which I worship. (6) Unto you your religion, and unto me my religion.

      ====
      Why only in Islam people misuse or read out of context the words from Holy Religious Text/Book?
      ====
      This is a good question. Its the radical groups who are misusing it, not the general population. If you look at the Taliban/Al-Qaeda/ISIS/other radical groups training camps they will sure misuse Qur’anic verses where it talks about killing the infidels (non-believers). If I can refer Talmud, one of the holy books of a sect of Jews, then the murder of Gentiles (infidels) is said to be a “holy sacrifice” for the Talmud followers. You can may be just search for keywords like “holy sacrifice talmud Zohar III” to get more references.

      Now the point I have is that there DO exist sections in the Qur’an which tells about killing the infidels, but the misuse comes when these sections are used as a general practice. These sections talk about circumstances when an infidel has declared WAR against the Creator. Qur’an is a complete reference for practices during all possible circumstances. If the Creator missed to mention any one of the circumstances that COULD exist in this world including those negative ones as well like bigotry, hypocrisy, WAR etc then his understanding of his own creation will be questioned and hence the existence of the Creator himself will become questionable. We will never find anything that is missed in the Qur’an, so is the case when someone declares WAR against the Creator. So what I am trying to say here is that, there are verses in the Qur’an which talks about killing the people who rage war against the Creator and you are in the WAR-ZONE with them, but its the radical groups which misuse them to provoke Muslims to use it out of context.

      ====
      Why only in Islam there is lack of correct understanding from childhood ?
      ====
      I doubt there is, now if you are considering those examples which I totally agree do exist (but exceptional cases considering the Muslim global population), then again you are following the few exceptional cases to build a judgement. For sure many knowledge and understanding evolve with time. I myself starting my deep quest of Islam during the last 15 to 20 years period or so to clearly understand whether Islam is actually what the media claims it to be or not.

      ====
      There is some thing really wrong my friend (i didn’t meant wrong with Islam since i truly respect the teachings of Islam)
      ====
      My friend, trust me, I had this same question many years ago before I started my deep dive into Islam. I became a Muslim because my parent are a Muslims, otherwise it was not my decision. My nature is not to do things which I DON’T like. That’s why I started my hunt. The more I have tried to understand Islam, the more I have respected the teachings. The same way you said you respect the teachings of Islam which you already know.

      For the better world the practice I follow is; as long as I don’t harm anyone Allah will protect me from any harm. Give respect and get respect, then we all can sure co-exist in harmony. In Shaa Allah at least we all can be a possible inspiration for that.
